Brodie Port is a Los Angeles-based composer and multi-instrumentalist who began scoring films at 14. His first project was composing the music for Keely Martin’s 49, which was screened at the LA Shorts International Film Festival. Since then, his music has been featured in several short films, including those shown at Sony Pictures and other notable film festivals. Brodie’s work has also expanded to feature-length documentaries, notably composing the score for Running for the Mountains, which was featured at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. He is currently studying composition at UC Berkeley, drawing inspiration from classical composers like Bach and Debussy, as well as contemporary artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and Radiohead. 

 

In addition to his film work, Brodie is a guitarist who regularly performs throughout California. While studying in Japan, he performed with the Doshisha University Jazz Orchestra and at various venues in Kyoto and Kobe. In addition to guitar, Brodie plays bass, drums, trumpet, alto horn, keyboards, synthesizers, and produces music in Logic Pro. He is working on his debut synthpop album. His first solo classical piano piece, Town of Cats, was released on streaming platforms in May 2023, and his latest chamber composition, Sonation, premiered in July 2024.
